I am reading a new book called (Pride of Puerto Rico) it is about a little boy named Roberto who plays baseball with his neighborhood vs other neighborhoods. Recently Roberto was in a big baseball situation where it was the third and first base loaded with 2 outs in the bottom of the ninth, in the situation Roberto imagined in his head that he hit a homerun and won the ball game. But in reality he hit a weak ground ball to the pitcher and lost the game.After the game Roberto swore to get better and not let his team down again.This book is about the great player Roberto Clemente.

ReplyDeleteI love baseball! I'm glad you're reading this book. This reminds me of "Me, Mop and the Moondance Kid", which we read last year. Remember when TJ was trying to get Mop adopted because the orphanage was closing down?
Anyway, what do you think the author's message is here? What might the author of this book be trying to teach you through the life of Roberto Clemente?
