stranded in a deserted Island

Prompt: If you were on a deserted island, which characters from the book "That Was Then, This is Now" would you want to be with and why.

If I was stranded in a deserted Island, I would take Cathy, Bryon, and Mark because they would be useful. Cathy could make ideas while we three do them. We are all three strong and could make a place to live by using trees.

* Explain why you think Bryon took the blame for cutting off Angela’s hair. Then discuss a time when you took the blame for something you did not do.

2. The main character wants to be your PenPal to talk about everything he has been going through and get advice from you. Write them a letter discussing the conflicts he is going through, then write about how you would deal with the situation if it were you. Make the main character feel good by telling them about their strengths and what they could work on.

3. Pretend you are the author of the book and you are on Oprah! She asks you, “Do you think people are basically good-hearted or basically selfish?” Based on the characters in this novel, what would you answer?

4. This book takes place in the 1970s. What have you learned about the time period? Do you think the world is better or worse off now?
